SUMMARY:Minority Health in Appalachia - Strategies for Success with Ohio Commission on Minority Health
DESCRIPTION:The Racial Equity Coalition of Athens County Health and Wellness Committee will host its final virtual presentation for Minority Health Month with keynote speaker Angela Dawson\, Executive Director of the Ohio Commission on Minority Health\, on April 30 from 12-2:30 pm via Zoom. Ms. Dawson will lead the Coalition’s second community roundtable on minority health in Appalachia\, which will focus on how health organizations and practitioners can develop strategies for change to help reach ideal minority health outcomes. Utilizing data from the 2021 Health Value Dashboard presented by the Health Policy Institute of Ohio\, Ms. Dawson will discuss ways to implement sustainable change and promote advocacy. This roundtable will include breakout sessions for participants to map realistic strategies that addresses health equity in Appalachia.
