The Escape of Jane” featuring Patricia Thomas Saturday, August 27th at SEO History Center!

On Saturday, August 27th at 6:00pm you will have the opportunity to see Patricia Thomas’s theatrical adaptation of the book “The Escape of Jane” by Henry Burke & Dick Croy at the Southeast Ohio History Center.

Tickets can be reserved by calling 740-592-2280. Pricing is $15 to the public, $10 for SEO History Center members, Children 9-12, $5, 8 and under admitted free. Seating is limited, so call and make reservations today!

Patricia, a talented actress, playwright, and director/producer has been involved in numerous productions with Ohio University and the Ohio Valley Summer Theater. Patricia received her MFA degree in theater from Ohio University, where she was honored by the Black Graduate Council for outstanding work in the performing arts. She created and organized All Colors Together (ACT), a student
theatrical group.

In “The Escape of Jane,” Patricia holds her audience spellbound as she artistically weaves the true story of one brave woman’s escape from slavery to freedom with her seven children. As the story unfolds, one can picture the family’s movements from beginning to end, and feel the human emotions of those both white and black of the underground railroad.

Special guest performances by the Calliope Woman’s Choir and Lawrence Green, African drummer and percussionist.
