The Ohio men’s basketball team officially announced Friday the addition of Khari Harley to its 2013-14 roster. The 6-foot-8 forward from Egg Harbor Township High School (NJ) will be eligible to play this season as a freshman for the Bobcats.

Harley was not highly recruited coming out of high school, despite averaging 18.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and shooting 44% from the field and 32% from beyond the arc his senior year. He was also named MVP of the 2013 Cape-Atlantic League All-Star Game.

He joins D.J. Wingfield, Wadly Mompremier and Antonio Campbell in the 2013 freshman class for Ohio.

The Bobcats’ first official practice of the 2013-14 season is on Friday, Sept. 27.

Harley and the Ohio Bobcats will play their first game of the season in the Convocation Center on Nov. 2 in an exhibition game against Ashland, one week before the official home opener against Northern Iowa.
