SUMMARY:John Knouse Trail Opening Celebration June 11
DESCRIPTION:Join Athens Conservancy for a grand opening celebration of the John Knouse Trail\, built in honor of our founder and widely-known friend of the community. The grand opening kicks off at 1 pm on Saturday\, June 11 at the western trailhead of the John Knouse Trail in the Canaan Preserve\, near the Horseman’s Area parking lot in Strouds Run.   The event\, hosted by the Conservancy and Friends of Strouds Run\, will include ribbon-cutting\, remembrances of John\, and self-guided tours of the new 2-mile trail. The first 50 attendees will receive a bandana. The event concludes at 3:30 pm\, but the trail is open for visitors and hiking anytime.  Details at athensconservancy.org.
