It was a close game for Gallia Academy and Logan High School as the two teams battled it out at Gallia’s Memorial Field. Defense and turnovers played a major factor in Logan’s hard earned 14-3 victory over Gallia.

Muddy conditions on the field also caused many problems for both teams throughout the game. After trudging through Gallia’s strong defense, Logan’s Junior Linebacker, Cory McCarty, ran 57 yards into the in-zone during the first quarter for the first touchdown of the game. Both teams continued to fight hard resulting in Gallia’s unsuccessful attempt to run the ball for a touchdown, one yard from the goal line, in the last five seconds of the second quarter.

Instead of going for the goal again Gallia decided to put in Senior, Brandon Taylor, who scored the field goal with two seconds left before halftime, leaving the score at 7-3, Logan, at halftime. Taylor also dominated much of the game with a total of 153 yards rushing. Coming back in the third quarter fully charged, Logan came back ready to score and that is exactly what they did, scoring a final touchdown in the fourth quarter for a Logan 14-3 victory.
