The Ohio University Volleyball team stands undefeated after their 3 set sweep over Eastern Michigan earlier this month.

It was the team’s fourth straight victory against MAC opponents, which puts them at a perfect 4-0 record in the conference.

Ohio University Head Volleyball Coach Ryan Theis says he is proud of his players’ accomplishments.

“We got a couple breaks, and not every team played their best against us," said Theis.

Although Theis admits it is still too early in the season to be thinking about a MAC championship, he does not hesitate to brag about the freshman.

“They are a very skilled class. They have been able to get in and make some plays," said Theis.

Following the loss of several seniors last year, Freshmen Outside-Hitters Kelly Lamberti and Chelsea Bilger grew up in a hurry.

In OU's win over Eastern Michigan, the two freshmen put the team on their backs, combining for a total of 22 kills in the team’s 3 set victory.

The team relies on Lamberti and Bilger to make big plays.

Junior Setter Leah Petrovich is impressed with the way her freshmen teammates are playing.

"The freshmen have done a great job setting up. We had four seniors leave last year needed those spots filled and they have really done a great job stepping in," said Petrovich.

Theis wants all his players to maintain focus during their road game stretch this weekend.

If the team hopes to continue winning, they need to stay hungry.

“We got to be a tough team. We are going to have to be efficient. We are going to have to be able to handle tough situations," said Theis.

The Bobcats continue their conference play Friday in Akron.

Saturday, the team takes Buffalo in New York.
