Cross Country: Women finish 19th at Pre-Nationals
< < Back toThe Ohio University women’s cross country raced to a 19th place finish on Sunday afternoon at Pre-Nationals.
The Bobcats were one of 37 teams that came from around the country to compete in the meet. They were also one of the three teams from the Mid-American Conference and one of five teams from the state of Ohio that took part in the meet. The Bobcats placed second among teams from both Ohio and the MAC.
Sophomore Emily Pifer led the Bobcats, as she placed 44th place with a time of 21:21. Juli Accurso also cracked the top 100 as she placed 54th, clocking a time of 22:01.
Florida State claimed the women's team title with 46 points with Georgetown second at 99, Michigan third with 148 points, Colorado fourth with 160, and Cornell fifth with 161 points.
Ohio will take a week off before it heads to the 2011 MAC Championship. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m. in Muncie, Indiana.
