Women’s Basketball: Benson picked to All-MAC East team

After averaging 13.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game last year, Ohio redshirt senior guard Tenishia Benson was named to the East Division All-MAC Team. In her first season of competition with the Bobcats, Benson led the team in rebounding and scoring in the 2010-2011 campaign. She scored a total of 395 points and pulled down 210 rebounds, 94 of those off the offensive glass. She also paced the team in field goals and free throws. Benson earned an All-MAC Honorable Mention honor at the end of last season. 

Joining her on the team for 2011-12 is Rachel Tecca (Akron), Chrissy Steffen (Bowling Green), Courtney Osborn (Miami) and Kirsten Olowinski (Miami).

Named to the All-MAC West preseason team was Brandi Baker (Central Michigan), Niki DiGuilio (Central Michigan), Tavelyn James (Eastern Michigan),  Naama Shafir (Toledo), and Miame Giden (Western Michigan).
