Athens County Shooting Under Investigation

Athens County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a Friday night shooting incident which sent a man to a Columbus hospital.
John Hawk, 23, of Reedsville is reported in stable condition.
Hawk told deputies he was shot by a man who claimed Hawk had robbed him, it happened near the intersection of Vore Ridge Road and Salem Road, and he was taken to O'Bleness Hospital in Athens by a passerby.
But according to Sheriff Pat Kelly, hospital officials said Hawk entered the hospital with his girlfriend, Misty Worstell of Athens.
And Kelly says Hawk told deputies the couple had been arguing before the shooting.
Sheriff Kelly says anyone with information about "gunshot sounds or a possible attempted breaking and entering" should contact the Sheriff's Office.
