Grand Jury Indicts Stewart Man On Sexual Imposition, Kidnapping Charges

UPDATE 2:05 p.m. A Stewart man now faces charges of kidnapping in addition to charges of gross sexual imposition following an Athens County Grand Jury session today.

Athens County prosecutor Keller Blackburn says the charges stem from allegations Gregory Gilkey sexually assaulted a 3-year-old girl and held her against her will.

Gilkey had been initially charged with two counts of gross sexual imposition after children services received a report that the girl had been sexually abused. The grand jury indicted him on two counts of gross sexual imposition and two counts of kidnapping.

Sheriff's deputies say Gilkey confessed to having contact with the girl twice in March.

Gilkey is currently behind bars at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

His arraignment is set for April 18.

Bond has been set in the case of a Stewart man charged with sexually abusing a 3-year-old girl in Athens County.

A spokeswoman with the Athens County Prosecutor's office says that bond for Gregory Gilkey, 52, is set at $25,000 and that he is likely to face the grand jury as soon as today.

Gilkey is charged with two counts of gross sexual imposition after Athens County Children Services received a report that the girl had been sexually abused.

Athens County Sheriff's deputies say Gilkey confessed to having contact with the girl twice in March.

Gilkey is currently behind bars at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
