Football: Tettleton and Weller Each Receive Weekly MAC East Awards

Ohio quarterback Tyler Tettleton and kicker Matt Weller were recognized today as the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week and the MAC East Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively. Both awards came following Ohio’s 27-24 victory over Marshall on Saturday.

It is the second time that both Tettleton and Weller have won the awards in the young season. 
 
Tettleton led the Bobcats to a win over Marshall by compiling 200 passing yards and three touchdowns. Tettleton was 20-for-35 and completed a pass to nine different receivers to get the come-from-behind victory for the Bobcats.
 
This season, Tettleton has thrown for 781 yards and seven touchdowns; he also has not thrown an interception.
 
Weller continued his award-winning senior season by booting a 38-yard game winning field goal against Marshall. 
 
He was given this award after going three-for-three on extra points and being perfect on a pair of field goal attempts.This season, Weller is six-for-nine on field goal attempts and has hit all 12 extra point attempts. He has attributed for 30 of the Bobcats’ 102 points. Weller has a school record 321 career points.
 
Tettleton and Weller will take the field this Saturday at home as the Bobcats take on Norfolk State.
