ABC Players Kick Off 2013-2014 Workshop Series

Want to learn how to use theater makeup techniques to enhance your best features and create special effects on stage? 

Sign up for the Athenian Berean Community Players first Technical Workshop of the 2013/2014 season, taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Stuart's Opera House in Nelsonville.

The workshop leader, Joseph Wright, is the executive director of The French Art Colony and Riverby Theatre Guild in Gallipolis, as well as the owner/director of The Imagination Factory youth theatre company, which will begin a new program this fall at the Smoot Theatre in Parkersburg. W.Va.  

He worked professionally for Walt Disney Entertainment and Paramount Parks and has produced, directed or performed in more than 50 community theatre productions.

Wright will demonstrate basic stage makeup techniques, aging techniques and some special effects. The number of workshop participants will be limited to 16 people.

Each person should bring a personal makeup kit consisting of foundation, eyeliner, lip covering, setting powder, application tools and makeup remover.

Those interested in attending may register by sending an email to the.abc.players@gmail.com. The workshop is free to ABC Players members who have paid their 2013/2014 dues; the cost for non-members is $10.
