Federal and local officials are launching a new campaign to fight prescription drug abuse.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin and Huntington Police Chief Skip Holbrook met with students and faculty at Huntington Middle School on Monday to launch the campaign that features a film and Facebook page.

The film known as "E.O.D. Equal Opportunity Destroyer" was developed through a partnership between the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of West Virginia and the Huntington Police Department.

The 17-minute film features the true stories of a West Virginia father and a young woman whose lives have been changed by prescription drug abuse.

In addition, officials set up a Facebook page with the video and other information to educate the public about the dangers associated with prescription pill abuse.
