The six-game road trip is over and the Ohio Bobcats will tipoff in the Convocation Center this Saturday for the first time in over a month. Awaiting the 3-4 ‘Cats are the Division II Notre Dame College Falcons (5-1)

Ohio comes into the matchup the losers of three straight. The Bobcats are averaging just under 64 points a contest during the three-game skid with an average margin of loss of just under 14 points.

The visiting Falcons come to Athens in the midst of a three-game win streak. On average, the Mountain East Conference members have outscored opponents, 78.3-66.8, and outrebounded foes, 47.8-36.8.

Redshirt sophomore Martha Nagbe has been the offensive MVP for Notre Dame thus far, averaging 21.3 points and 7.0 boards per contest. Senior Erin Entinghe has made a living in the paint this year, piling up 11.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Despite playing in a higher division than Notre Dame, Ohio head coach Bob Boldon said that practice has been business as usual this week.

“We have to get better at many different facets of the game and we used this week to do that,” Boldon said.

Junior Mariah Byard said that with the three game losing streak, practice has not been any easier because of a D-II opponent.

“Oddly enough, it seems like they’re stressing hard work more,” Byard said.

The Falcons recorded 80-plus points on four separate occasions this season, making the rebound battle all the more vital.

“It’s something that we need to get better at and it’s going to be a challenge,” Boldon said. “Hopefully {winning the rebound battle} will lead to better shots.”

Tipoff from the Convo is set for 2 p.m.
