Glouster Woman Identified as Victim in Christmas Day Shooting

Early Thursday morning, Logan Police Chief Aaron Miller released the names of the man and woman in the Christmas Day murder-attempted suicide as Phillip Loschiavo, 30, of Bremen, and Teresa Bickley, 30, of Glouster.

Investigators believe Loschiavo shot Bickley in the parking lot and then turned the pistol on himself in front of his estranged wife and two small children. Loschiavo had a single gunshot wound to the head.

Miller said Loschiavo and his wife, Katie Loschiavo, have been separated since October, and Phillip placed the blame of their separation on Bickley, who was in a relationship with his estranged wife.

A report obtained by The Logan Daily News indicates that Katie told officers she and Bickley started a relationship after the October separation.

The shooting happened at 5:48 p.m. on Wednesday. When officers arrived at the parking lot, they found Bickley and Phillip Loschiavo laying on the ground near a vehicle and a third subject, identified as Katie Loschiavo, standing nearby with a small child.

Katie reportedly told officers that her estranged husband called earlier in the evening and wanted to meet and exchange information and give her some items.

According to the report, Bickley drove Katie and her two small children to the parking lot of Tractor Supply to meet with Phillip, who gave her a large sum of money and titles to his vehicles.

At one point Bickley stepped out of her vehicle to smoke a cigarette and Phillip allegedly asked her if she was happy. When Bickley replied that she was, Phillip allegedly took out a pistol and fired three shots into her chest and then put the gun to his head and fired one shot.

According to Hocking County Coroner Dave Cummin, Phillip threatened Bickley last week. Out of concern for their safety, Katie and Bickley chose to meet Phillip at a public place.

“This is just another example of man violence vs. women,” Cummin told The Logan Daily News. “He shot her at least three times in the chest at close range.”

Cummin pronounced Bickley dead at the scene and Phillip was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus by MedFlight, where he was listed in critical condition Thursday afternoon.

The Hocking County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Logan Police Department at the scene. Hocking County EMS, the Logan Fire Department and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations also responded to the scene.
