Ohio University has hired former Toledo Rockets offensive coordinator Scott Isphording according to the Toledo Blade and the coach's personal Twitter account.

Isphording served as Ohio's recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach in 2009 before leaving to serve as Toledo's co-offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, and quarterbacks coach. Isphoring's hiring comes after former Ohio quarterbacks coach Gerry Gdowski departed from Athens for Vanderbilt University.

Although Isphording's Twitter account states that he will serve as the quarterbacks coach as well as the co-offensive coordinator, Ohio University has yet to confirm either position.

Prior to Ohio University in 2009, Isphording served on the staff at Eastern Michigan University and was the Eagles' offensive coordinator for his last two seasons with EMU. Isphording has also served on coaching staffs at Wittenberg University, Colorado School of Mines, and Fort Hays State University.

Isphording graduated from Hanover College where he was a four-year letterwinning quarterback. His play helped Hanover's offense rank third in NCAA Division III football in 1992.
