Ohio Announces 3 Write-In Candidates For 2014 Elections
< < Back toOhio's elections chief has qualified write-in candidates in three May primary contests, including the governor's race.
They include Green Party gubernatorial candidate Anita Rios and running mate Bob Fitrakis, a Columbus lawyer and activist.
Two Libertarian write-in candidates, Bob Bridges for state auditor and Kevin Knedler for Secretary of State, also were qualified.
Secretary of State Jon Husted announced the ballot additions Tuesday.
Write-in candidates with no same-party opposition need at least 500 votes to advance to November's general election. That's the number of signatures they would have needed to be listed on the ballot.
Republican Gov. John Kasich is unopposed in the primary, as is Libertarian rival Charlie Earl. Ed FitzGerald, the endorsed Democrat, faces a challenge from Democrat Larry Ealy.
