Detroit Natives Charged With Drug Felonies In Scioto County

Troopers from the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol had a busy day Wednesday– arresting five suspects on felony charges during three separate traffic stops.

The first two stops occurred on US 23 near Lucasville. Troopers Stopped Driver 49-year-old Aaron Ford Jr. of Columbus for driving too closely to another car. A search of his vehicle uncovered 10 grams of crack cocaine valued around $1,000 and four grams of marijuana.

Ford was charged with possesion of crack cocaine and marijuana.

Next, a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Donte Murphy was stopped for speeding. Troopers uncovered nearly 289 Oxycodone pills, valued at over $11,560. Murphy and his two passengers, 24-year-old Derick Fonville and 19-year-old Briana Koger, are from Detroit. All three are charged with drug trafficking and possesion.

Finally in Minford, Troopers stopped 40-year-old Roger Reed on Taylor Hill road for several vehicle defects. Troopers suspected Reed was operating his vehicle while impaired. He was charged with OVI and possesion after police also uncovered 10 milligrams of Vicotin pills.

All five suspects were taken to the Scioto County Jail.
