The latest Quinnipiac University poll shows only 36 percent of registered Ohio voters surveyed approve of the way President Obama is doing his job.

Fifty-nine percent of those who responded said they disapprove of Obama’s job performance. That’s close to his all-time low score in any of the nine states surveyed by Quinnipiac University.

Democrats overwhelmingly approve of Obama’s performance and Republicans nearly unanimously disapprove. But by a 2-1 margin, independents surveyed said they disapprove of the way the President is running the country.

It’s not all bad news for Democrats as 52 percent of Ohioans surveyed said they would support Democrat Hillary Clinton if she ran for president over the other possible Republican candidate, even incumbent Ohio Governor John Kasich.  He’s been mentioned by some pundits as a possible presidential contender but this poll shows Clinton would beat Kasich in a head to head matchup in Ohio right now by a 47 to 40 percent margin.
