Bethany Road Closed Monday

The Athens County Engineer's Office is closing County Road 53 (Bethany Ridge) in Rome Township today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Drivers are advised to avoid this area.

Liquid Substance seen on Muskingum River

The brown, dirty substance seen on the Northern Muskingum River yesterday is not oil. More testing will be done on samples while the Environmental Protection Agency will continue to monitor the river.

New iPhone sold out

Apple Company sold a record 4 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones on Friday. The company says an additional supply will be available at Apple stores Friday September 19.

Building a Coalition Against ISIS

Secretary of State Kerry is wrapping up an overseas trip in Paris. He met with global leaders to form a coalition against terror group ISIS. France and Britain have pledged to work with the U.S. in its support for military action.
