The Plains Hosts The Indian Mound Festival
< < Back toThe Plains Community Park will be featuring unique events at their 30th annual Indian Mound Festival starting tonight and ending Sunday, October 5th.
Events like folk singers, car shows, ventriloquists, and parades will be held. Main events include an Archery Torunament and a series of over 20 craftsmen and artisans that will display their goods for sale.
The event celebrates the Adena Indian history, and the more than 30 mounds they left behind. The mounds date back to 200 A.D. and tours for the remaining nine mounds will be available Saturday.
The festival coordinator and Co-Chair Member of the Plains Lion Club, Bill Snider, said the pinnacle of the weekend will the vendors and craftsmen. He hopes that festival-goers will be able to take locally produced art and display it in their homes.
