A former central Ohio high school teacher who has served more than two years in prison for having sex with a special-needs student is getting out early.

A judge on Thursday granted Sonya Horn’s request to suspend the last 22 months of her four-year sentence and put her on probation.

The 34-year-old Horn was sentenced to four years in prison in January 2013 after pleading guilty to four counts of sexual battery and tampering with evidence. She had been a special education teacher at Johnstown High School in Licking County.

Part of her plea involved prosecutors agreeing not oppose early release if Horn asked for it.

As part of her probation, Horn will not be allowed access to the Internet or to have unsupervised contact with minors.
