An Amesville-area man convicted in 1977 of the aggravated murder of his wife has failed to show he is entitled to seek a new trial, an Athens County judge has ruled.

William Clumm, 72, filed a motion last week in Athens County Common Pleas Court asking for permission to file a motion for a new trial in the murder of Francine Spain Clumm.
