Fire Department Exercises in the Hocking

According to press release from the Athens Fire Department, crews will be conducting auto extrication training on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 11 and 12.  Wednesday’s exercises will take place IN the Hocking River near the Stimson Avenue bridge.  All precautions have been taken to lessen environmental impact, and has been approved by all relative agencies.

While the AFD would prefer that you stay clear of the area, all roads will remain open. They warn that traffic may be affected in the morning on the Stimson Bridge.  The press release adds, “We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your continued support in helping provide an excellent service for our community.”
