Executives-In-Residence Provide Specific Expertise to Local Entrepreneurs

For this special series of “Innovation Conversations,” WOUB’s Tom Hodson welcomes Jeff Doose, Executive-In-Residence at TechGROWTH Ohio and the Ohio University Innovation Center, to Studio B for a discussion on innovation in Southeast Ohio.

Doose has been an Executive-In-Residence at TechGROWTH Ohio and the Ohio University Innovation Center since 2001.
He brings both financial and legal expertise to fledgling innovators and entrepreneurs in this region. He prepares companies for potential investment.

Currently, Doose, a lawyer, is a partner in Adena Ventures, a venture capital firm that specializes in funding start-up companies and small companies needing to grow. He sits on the fund’s Investment Committee.

Doose has had a career spanning 25 years as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and college professor. He has managed a venture capital fund and he has worked in development banking and in high growth enterprises.

Doose also has worked in rural development projects from the Mississippi Delta to the Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas and Native American communities in Minnesota. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Board of BestTransportion.com, Inc.

Doose talked with WOUB’s Tom Hodson about the multifaceted role of an Executive-in-Residence in the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Ohio University and the range of services provided to young innovators.

He earned his juris doctorate degree from the University of Denver and his master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado. His bachelor’s degree is from Southwest State University.
