The Spartans piled on 197 yards in the first half of their shutout win against Nelsonville-York. They also clinched a share of the TVC-Ohio crown in the process and will play for the outright title in week 10 against Meigs.

 

2.) Athens 5-3 (3-1) | Last Rank: 2 | Next Opponent: River Valley

Zacciah Saltzman put the team on his back once again with an astonishing 368 yards and four touchdowns. With the performance, Saltzman has accumulated a whopping 30 touchdowns and 1,810 yards.

 

3.) River Valley 6-2 (3-2) | Last Rank: 4 | Next Opponent: Athens

Friday’s win against Vinton County secured River Valley’s first winning season since 2003. Dayton Hardaway shined in the win, finishing 12-of-19 for 217 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

During its first meeting with Jackson since 1982, Meigs gave up 615 yards, 538 of which came on the ground.

The Rockets fell to Athens in an overtime shootout thriller despite Nick Cox’s 125 rushing yards.

Nelsonville-York’s week one win against Trimble seems like a distant memory with the Buckeyes allowing 205 in the seven games since, all of which have been losses.

Vinton County led only once against River Valley when Brett Haislop returned a fumble for 71 yards.
