The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its latest set of computer ratings on Tuesday afternoon. Several teams from within our coverage area are in playoff contention heading into the regular season’s final week.

With the exception of division I, the top eight teams from each region will qualify for the playoffs.

Division II, Region Five

Fresh off clinching a share of the MVL title, Tri-Valley (8-1) sits in sixth place with an 18.6889 rating, a two-spot rise from last week’s ratings. Logan (7-2) snapped a two-game skid with a win against Gallia Academy, but the Chieftains currently sit on the outside looking in with their 16.2833 rating putting them in ninth place. Mansfield Senior (7-2) currently occupies the eighth and final playoff spot.

Division III, Region Nine

Despite its four-game winning streak, Jackson (8-1) dropped from first to fourth in the region, earning a 19.1611 rating. Down in 11th place, Sheridan’s (6-3) position remains unchanged from last week with the Generals sitting in 11th place with a 12.5222 rating.

Division IV, Region 13

Bloom-Carroll’s (5-4) 31-7 loss to Teays Valley dropped it from eighth to ninth in the region with Byesville Meadowbrook currently occupying the last playoff spot. The Bulldogs boast an 11.8778 rating. Maysville (7-2) experienced a more dramatic drop after falling to Tri-Valley, dropping from sixth to tenth with an 11.5778 rating.

Division V, Region 17

Zane Trace (9-0) remains undefeated, but it can no longer claim the top spot in the region. Wheelersburg (9-0) overtook the Pioneers, who currently sit in second with a 20.2 rating. Behind Zane Trace sits Alexander (8-1), whose No. 3 spot remains unchanged with a 17.9889 rating.

River Valley (7-2) moved up one spot to seventh place, earning a 12.6061 rating.

Division VII, Region 25
