Federal Hocking Lady Lancers: Dec. 20-27
< < Back toAlthough the Federal Hocking Lady Lancers are off to a 1-9 start, a relaxed schedule awaits the young team and gives them a much-needed opportunity to rest.
The Lady Lancers have played their past three games all within a four-day span.
The lack of rest was clear as the Lady Lancers lost all three of their games by double digits. The tired Federal Hocking team didn’t catch any breaks as they went on to face the undefeated Waterford Wildcats and the 7-2 Southern Tornadoes, who sit in second place behind the Wildcats.
After a tough 30 point loss to the Wildcats the Lady Lancers traveled to face a Southern team that held the Lady Lancers to a season low, 25 points. Two days later, Federal Hocking traveled to Trimble where they were beaten 56-41.
Even though the Lady Lancers next three games will be over a ten-day span, they will have to travel to take on the Vinton County Vikings and the Eastern Eagles. Both the Vikings and the Eagles are in third place in their respective divisions, while the Lady Lancers sit in eighth place, out of nine teams in their division.
Throughout the week, the Lady Lancers have had some tough losses but this has been a repeating theme all season. The Lady Lancers are averaging 40 points per game but allowing 54 points. The Lady Lancers single win came against the last place Wahama White Falcons who have not won a game yet this season.
With the season hitting the halfway mark, the Lady Lancers are being outscored by opponents by an average of nearly 20 points. This lack of defense has definitely hurt a Federal Hocking team that finished in sixth place in the TVC-Hocking last year.
