The Lady Marauders continued their season this week with a huge win over Wahama and a tightly contested game against Southern.

On Dec. 28 Meigs defeated the Wahama Lady White Falcons 54-18. Overall the Lady Marauders kept up a team effort in the victory. Madison Fields led scoring for the Lady Marauders with 12 points on the night.

Meigs used powerful defense to keep Wahama from scoring; a key to the Lady Marauders wins this season.

The Lady Marauders used the momentum when they traveled to Southern on Dec. 30, again using defense as a way to stay competitive.

The Southern Lady Tornadoes averaged 50 points per game heading into the contest. Meigs’ defense managed to hold Southern to only 37 points.

Though their defensive tactics were strong, the Lady Marauders’ offense struggled with key shots and free throws. These struggles led Meigs to fall short with a 31-37 outcome.

Despite the loss this week, Meigs’ coach Scott Cleland has seen great improvement in his Lady Marauders.

“I am very pleased with how they are progressing and how competitive they have become,” Cleland mentioned.

The Lady Marauders hope to start next week off with a win, facing Federal Hocking on Dec. 4.
