After losing its first game of the season last week, the Trimble boys needed a rebound. A 75-57 win at Nelsonville-York on Tuesday brought the Tomcats back into the win column.

Trimble was living from behind the three-point line after making eight shots from behind-the-arc.

The leading scorer on the night was Trimble’s Bryce Guthrie who had 23 points. Guthrie tacked on 13 rebounds to give him a double-double on the night.

Guthrie was a highlight in a physical game that saw 35 combined team fouls. Guthrie worked through Nelsonville-York’s 2-3 zone defense for totals and team leads of 23 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and two blocked shots.

Four Trimble players, Hixson, Guthrie, Justice Jenkins, and Tyler Sayre scored in double digits. The four combined for 66 of Trimble’s total points.

Trimble’s seniors Guthrie and Jenkins, members of the All-Hero Watchlist, will look to continues guiding the Tomcats who are atop the TVC-Hocking standings with Waterford.

Trimble (7-1) will look to continue to bounce back from their loss, its first regular season loss since two seasons ago, with a struggling Federal Hocking (3-6) team who has lost three of their last four.
