Athens Dominates New Lexington< < Back to
The Athens Bulldogs have gotten out of the slump they started the season with. Athens defeated the out-of-conference New Lexington Panthers 67-42.
A major key for the Bulldogs was their ball movement. Griffin Lutz led the Bulldogs with 15 points.
Nick Lutz, no relation to Griffin, added 12 points of his own, including two threes. 10 players in total scored for the Bulldogs; junior forwards Brody Ball and Genesis Williams came off the bench to score eight points a piece.
With the winning streak, it will come in jeopardy when the Bulldogs will host the Meigs Marauders Friday, Jan. 22. On the same day, New Lexington will also stay at home with a game against Maysville.
