Man Dies in Crash While Fleeing Police

CHILLICOTHE – One man died in a rollover crash on US 35 after fleeing from Chillicothe police earlier this morning.
The Chillicothe Gazette reports that an officer attempted to pull over a red, 2-door vehicle at about 2 a.m. for expired license plates and a suspended driver’s license. The vehicle initially stopped and a passenger got out of the car.
The driver then sped away, leading police on a chase and eluding them at one point,
A short time later, the Ohio Highway Patrol found the car in a ditch where it apparently had rolled over several times. The driver reportedly died in the crash.
No other details have been made available.
