Ohio (10-3, 4-3) grabbed its fifth straight win Sunday with a 25-13 win over Old Dominion (4-10, 0-5) in the Bobcats’ last home match this season.

The match started off with Nick Steed wrestling against Alexander Richardson. Richardson got an early takedown and started a trend for the rest of his match and won 6-1 by decision, giving the first win of the day to Old Dominion.

Ohio was quick to stop Old Dominion from winning after Spartak Chino, Austin Reese, and Codey Walters won three matches in a row.

Codey Walters, No. 11 in the country, dominated in his match. Walters was awarded with a two-point takedown in the first five seconds of the first period. Walters won with 14-0 individual points, nine of which were awarded in the third period.

Phil Wellington, No. 13, also dominated against his opponent. Wellington started off his match against Kaleae Fetahi with an early takedown. Wellington ended his match with a total of seven takedowns and won by major decision.

Shakur Laney was also one to stand out with his match against Brando Jeske. Laney was down by one point with 20 seconds left in the third period. Laney was quick on his feet and pulled out a win after being awarded two back points and a takedown.

With only three matches left, Ohio will travel to Bolling Springs, N.C on Friday, February 13 to take Gardner-Webb.
