MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (AP) – A man accused of fatally shooting his mother and girlfriend while high on a synthetic drug is scheduled for a change of plea hearing in central Ohio.

Travis Bonham initially pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder and weapons-related counts in Knox County last fall. The Mount Vernon man was expected to plead guilty at a hearing scheduled for Monday afternoon.

Investigators say the 31-year-old Bonham admitted that he shot his mother, 50-year-old Sandra Selk, and his girlfriend, 23-year-old Jaime Linn Barber, on Sept. 29 while he was high on the synthetic drug known as bath salts.

Bonham’s public defender hasn’t returned calls seeking comment during the case.

The original charges against Bonham carried a potential sentence of life in prison if he were to be convicted.
