Rev1 Ventures in Columbus works with companies and entrepreneurs in 15 central Ohio counties to develop ideas, services and products from basic concepts to having investment potential.

Bethany George, an Ohio University alumna, serves as Director of Investment Funds for the central Ohio firm.

Rev1 Ventures provides free services to a select group of entrepreneurs and innovators and helps develop companies and concepts until they become viable for investment. Then Rev1 Ventures helps find investors for the new idea.

About 150 companies a year go through a three day program over a two week period called Concept Academy, according to George. This academy helps validate problems being faced by the new company and crystalizes solutions.

Often Rev1 Ventures partners with other groups in Ohio such as the Athens-based TechGrowth Ohio to facilitate growth and stability of young companies in the region.

George’s expertise includes assessing markets and competition, building investor presentations, designing capital access and technology development plans, management and financial advising and business process improvement.

She has extensive international experience working with companies in Hong Kong, Thailand, Mexico, England and Hungary.
Prior to joining Rev1 Ventures, George served as an Executive-in-Residence with TechGrowth Ohio. She worked with pre-revenue/early state technology inventors and entrepreneurs.

She also was responsible for managing teams of Ohio University MBA and Center for Entrepreneurship students through consulting engagements.

A native of Lancaster, Ohio, George received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio University and a master’s degree in business, economics and political science.

George also served on the Global Leadership Center Advisory Board at Ohio University.
