Alleged Attempted Abduction Found To Be Fabrication< < Back to
What was reported as an attempted abduction near West Elementary has now been found to be a fabrication, according to police.
A female juvenile reported that an unknown white male had attempted to abduct her on August 25 at about 3:30 p.m. behind West Elementary. She gave a description of the man as 5 feet, 8 inches tall with red hair and black highlights, and with a thick black beard.
She said the man fled toward Central Avenue and got into a red and brown Corvette.
“Officers conducted an investigation and have been unable to substantiate any of the reported information,” the police report at the time of the alleged incident stated.
But officers now say the female “fabricated” the story and the case is closed.
“The female never had any involvement with an unknown suspicious male on her way home from school and explained that she made the story up to get noticed,” according to an updated report released Tuesday night.
