Lampkins Named Player of the Week Again< < Back to
Another week, another conference award for Quiera Lampkins.
The Mid-American Conference named the Ohio guard the MAC East Player of the Week on Tuesday, the third time Lampkins has received the honor in the past five weeks.
The Bobcats (10-2, 1-0) went 1-1 this past week, first losing to North Carolina A&T on Dec. 28 but then beating Bowling Green on New Year’s Eve to open conference play.
In the 63-57 loss to NCAT, Lampkins scored 26 points and grabbed three rebounds while also recording two assists and four steals.
Three days later, Lampkins scored 21 against a Bowling Green team the Bobcats have bested five-straight times. She also had five rebounds and five steals in 37 minutes of action.
This season, the senior is averaging 19.8 points on 44 percent shooting, 7.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.5 steals in 35.7 minutes per game.
Ohio is back in action on Jan. 4 to take on Buffalo in the MAC home-opener. Buffalo was the only MAC team to beat the Bobcats last season, twice in the regular season and then again in the conference tournament. Tip-off on Wednesday will be at 7 p.m.
