HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — Three people were taken to the hospital last night after a driver crashed into a power pole near the intersection of Riverside Drive and First Street in the Altizer area.
The driver, who is suspected of driving under the influence, is being questioned by police.

The crash, which happened about 7:45 p.m., destroyed the top part of the pole and shut down Riverside Drive in that area.

Police say five people were inside the white Ford Explorer at the time, some of them minors.

Nearly 3,000 people were without power after the crash.
