The Vinton County Vikings remained undefeated after their tenth game of the season, defeating Logan with a 77-54 final score. The Vikings played an excellent offensive game and allowed room for senior Tristan Bartoe to score the thousandth point of his high school career.

Vinton County continued to showcase why they’re one of the best teams in the conference as they welcomed the Logan Chieftains to their court for a match up against an out-of-conference team. A tight defense blocked the Chieftains from making crucial plays and seamless passes on offense led to points piling up on the scoreboard.

Logan played a strong defensive game but could not keep up with the Vikings offense. Vinton County was leading at the end of the first half but Logan stepped up their game in an attempt to best the Vikings but could not prevail.

Both Tristan Bartoe and Naylan Yates emerged once more as leaders during this game, scoring a combined total of 51 points. Bartoe managed to score his thousandth point in the second quarter with a layup in the paint.

The energy of the players translated directly to the crowd who remained on their feet and cheering for the entire game. Thunderous applause and a rowdy student section contributed to the overall mood of the players, supporting them the best way they knew how.

“The place was shaking at times and we’ve had big crowds all year and I think this was the kind of game people like to watch,” said Coach Combs.

Vinton County is looking ahead to Friday night where they will take on Meigs at home which will give them the chance to continue their winning streak.
