OUPD Investigating Two Reported Rapes

Ohio University Police say they are investigating two reported rapes of students.

According to a crime alert issued by the department, one victim reported being raped to police at 6:20 p.m. on Sunday.

Police say the victim in that case told them she was raped by an unknown man in her room in Ryors Hall around 3 a.m. that morning.

The victim reported meeting the man on West Union Street before walking back to her room. Police say the victim woke up to the man “engaging her in sexual conduct without consent.”

Around 5 a.m. that morning another victim reported being raped in her room in Armbruster House. The victim reported meeting the suspect at a bar before he walked her back to her room and then “forced the victim onto her bed and engaged in sexual conduct without consent.”
