The Belpre Golden Eagles scored a stunning 66-52 win over the Trimble Tomcats Tuesday night. It was Belpre’s first win over Trimble in six years.

Trimble started out strong jumping out to an eight to nothing lead to begin the game. This lead would quickly fade as Belpre began to heat up and never looked back. They scored 12 straight points to take a 12-8 lead and stayed ahead the rest of the way.

Belpre was led by the sensational play of tandem Mythius Houghton and Deijon Bedgood. Houghton scored 26 points on an unprecedented 80 percent shooting and completely controlled the game’s pace. Bedgood was a force on offense as well adding in 20 points and 6 rebounds.

Trimble was completely lacking on both ends of the court. Their offense seemed stiff and their defense suffered too many lapses. The highlight for the Tomcats was the play of Tyler Slack, who had 25 points. But other than Tyler, there was hardly any production from Trimble.

This is Trimble’s third straight loss. They look to bounce back on Friday when they return home to face Miller. This win ended Belpre’s four game losing streak as they look to start a positive streak when they face Federal Hocking on Friday at home.
