Just weeks off of the release of their latest full-length, the playfully entitled Prick of the Litter, country music legend Delbert McClinton and his band, the Self Made Men, are headed to perform at the Peoples Bank Theatre in Marietta this Thursday, March 16.

McClinton attributes the artfully crafted album to the natural chemistry and musical relationship between the members of the band. Guitarist Bob Britt, keyboardist Kevin McKendree, bassist Mike Joyce, drummer Jack Bruno, and trumpet player Quentin Ware have been playing with McClinton for a little over half a decade.

Prick of the Litter was written relatively quickly, most of the songs being co-written by McClinton and the band over the course of only a few weeks. A portion of the tunes were crafted while the group stayed at McClinton’s getaway in Mexico. The group has already written a number of other songs that will most likely be included on the outfit’s next release.

McClinton encouraged those interested to check out his signature Sandy Beaches Cruises, which entail several days of live music on a cruise ship.

Tickets for Thursday’s show are $26 to $48 each, with a limited number of VIP tickets available for $75.
