Ohio (25-8, 6-2) looks to continue its dominant start to the season following a series victory against Western Michigan and splitting a two-game series against Kent State.

A day after Friday’s game was cancelled due to a snow forecast, the Bobcats welcome a tough Ball State team that has the best Mid-American Conference record. Ball State has won 12 of its last 13 matches with their lead batter being Rachel Houck. She has an impressive .343 average and 10 homeruns on the season.

The last time these two teams competed, which was in 2016, Ball State grabbed an 8-6 victory. Ohio is a new team this year, thanks to its relentless offense and Dorsey’s pitching. Therefore, the Cardinals might struggle this time around to keep up with this rejuvenated Ohio team.

Savannah Jo Dorsey is fueling the ignition for the ‘Cats.

She notched her 1,000th career strikeout, becoming the third player in MAC history to accomplish this feat. Dorsey additionally has the most wins in the MAC while holding opponents to a measly .152 average.

Alex Day is cruising with a .387 average while Taylor Saxton is flying in with 14 steals.

Today’s doubleheader begins at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The third game of the series is on Sunday at noon.
