Saturday, July 22 through Sunday, July 23 Robbins Crossing on the Hocking College campus will host the 10th annual Seat Weavers Guild Gathering. The meeting includes an open to the public “Chair Seating Through the Ages” exhibition, open on Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., which features many rare types of chairs and depictions of various styles of seat weaving.

Seat weaving demonstrations will take place on Sunday, July 23 starting at 1 p.m. and display numerous types of the time-honored artistic tradition.

WOUB’s Emily Votaw spoke to Mindy King, the founder of the Seat Weavers Guild Gathering about the history of the art form, what people can expect from the weekend’s event, and the future of seat weaving.
