The Dairy Barn Arts Center invites the community to attend our Grand Re-opening on Thursday, August 24 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The evening will include tours and guided activities throughout the new spaces in the Barn, music, a cash bar, and hors d’oeuvre. Remarks will be given at 4pm.

The Grand Re-opening is in celebration of the completion of our Building for a Second Century expansion project. Construction on this project began on October 5, 2016 and was completed by Hoon, Inc. and RVC Architects, both from Athens, Ohio. This expansion has provided the Barn with a new gallery shop, community room, welcome lobby, catering kitchen, outside patio and three new studio spaces- ceramic, fiber arts and digital. The project has also allowed for renovations to the existing barn, including the renovation of the ends of the Barn, installation of hardwood floors in the AEP Wing, new carpet throughout the Sauber Gallery, upstairs offices and hallways, a first floor sound system and new panels in the Sauber Gallery. Additionally, work on the Ora Anderson Nature Trail has begun, a hiking trail that will wind through the 32 acres behind the Barn.

“We are so pleased to celebrate this milestone of the organization. We want to thank over 350 friends, members, businesses, organizations, and foundations that have contributed to this effort,” said Jane Forrest Redfern, Executive Director. “With this expansion, we now have space for artists and friends to make and teach art in our new studios and to sell and exhibit this work in our new gallery space and gallery shop. We are also excited to have the availability to increase our number of community events and rentals.”
