CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – The U.S. Small Business Administration plans to open a center Friday in northern West Virginia to help businesses hurt by severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides in late July.

The SBA says applications for low-interest, long-term disaster loans for property damage will be due by Oct. 17.

Applications for working capital to address economic injury will be due by May 18.

The office in Fairmont will be open weekdays.

President Trump last week issued a disaster declaration because of the flooding July 28 and 29, authorizing levels of federal assistance in a dozen counties.

Meanwhile, federal help continues for more severe flooding in 2016.

Congressman Evan Jenkins says the state will get $1.6 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for removing debris from the June 2016 floods.
