Stuart’s Opera House will be supporting two events presented by musicians from the VIVO Chamber Festival.

VIVO Music Festival is a Columbus based classical music festival dedicated to presenting a vital and singular musical experience for our home community in the form of a weeklong annual music festival. They are expanding this year to present a free concert at Coolville Elementary on Friday, August 25 and a free public concert at the Nelsonville Public Library (95 W. Washington Street in Nelsonville) on Saturday, August 26 at 3 p.m. These events are FREE, but more information is available at (740) 753-1924 or online at stuartsoperahouse.org.

The third annual VIVO Music Festival returns to Columbus with a series of immersive and imaginative chamber music events from August 21 to September 3. All performances are free with a suggested donation at the door. For its 2017 season, VIVO unites 18 young professional musicians, many of whom grew up in Columbus and now have international performing careers. This out-of-the-box collaborative classical music experience features concerts at popular local hangouts and gathering spots. VIVO is the brainchild of two Columbus native musicians, Siwoo Kim (violin, VIVO Music Festival Artistic Director, Westerville South High School ’08) and John Stulz (viola, VIVO Music Festival Artistic Director, Upper Arlington High School ’06). Kim was a member of Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect, a fellowship program for the country’s finest young professional classical musicians. Stulz is one of 31 members of Ensemble InterContemporain (Paris), which is dedicated to performing and promoting contemporary chamber music. RSVP’s are recommended for all performances, as seating is limited. Visit vivofestival.org for information about how to RSVP.

Statewide Community Performances with Tuesday Musical Association In August, Tuesday Musical Association (tuesdaymusical.org) will partner with the VIVO Music Festival to present a series of free concerts August 24 to September 2 at various communityminded venues in Athens, Delaware and Nelsonville. These 45-minute performances feature world-class young performers, many of whom grew up in Ohio, and will be followed by Q&A sessions. Visit vivofestival.org to learn more.
