Athens Harvest Festival Returns for Second Year at Lake Snowden

September 1-3 the Athens Harvest Festival and Bluegrass Jamboree will return to Lake Snowden with a celebration complete with oodles of free music and even some breathtaking fireworks Sunday night.

The event, which aims to highlight regional farmers, eateries, and Appalachian culture as a whole, will be headlined by acclaimed “new grass” act Blue Moon Soup.

Other musical acts who will be performing at the festival include String Therapy, The Bluegrass Sweethearts, Restless Leg String Band, Sandy Tar Brothers, Mountains Lost, The Redbrush Band, The Relentless Mules, Desmond Jones, Flatland Harmony Experiment, Two by Two, 710 Ashbury, and others.

A huge farmer’s market will be staged the day of the event, drawing vendors from all over the area.

Admission on Friday, September 1, is free, and attendance costs $10 per person Saturday, September 2 and $20 per person on Sunday, September 3. All children under the age of 12 are admitted free of charge.
