The Nelsonville-York Lady Buckeyes rocked the River Valley Lady Raiders with a 3-0 win for the match. The first set, things were kept close finishing the set off with a 25-14 lead for Nelsonville. River Valley started picking up the pace back up in the third set but failed to take the win scoring, 25-14 once again.

River Valley’s offense just was not on par tonight as they struggled to get numbers on the board. N-Y’s coach, Stephanie Breeze said her team “played for the serve. The whole team, from the players I pulled up from Junior Varsity, to the girls on that never left the court” were responsible for the big win tonight.

Kyla Henderson (#15), had a total of fifteen points tonight, with nine kills and three blocks. Alexis Bostater (#8), also had a phenomenal game totaling fifteen assists and 28 points.

Throughout the entire game, Nelsonville-York’s student section cheered the team to victory and the support of their fans helped keep the energy going on the court. As the student section chants, “STATES, STATES, STATES” the girls continue to work hard, in order to strive for the playoff season.

The Nelsonville-York Buckeyes will be playing at 11:15 am on Saturday the 23rd against Zane Trace High School looking for another win in their season.
