When Noam Pikelny was readying himself for the release of his 2017 solo effort, Universal Favorite (Rounder Records), he decided to make a particularly humorous video to accompany the album. Throughout the video, Pikelny ponders the meaning of stardom within his life, and what brought him to this very moment, all in a tastefully tongue-in-cheek fashion, of course.

WOUB’s Emily Votaw spoke with Pikelny about the video, as well as his new album, which was inspired by Pikelny’s development of a unique solo performance style honed due to a lack of collaborators a few years ago.

Pikelny will bring his show to Stuart’s Opera House on Sunday, November 5 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $24-$29 in advance, and $29-$34 at the door and available online or by calling 740-753-1924.
